The Minnesota Timberwolves, one day long ago, drafted Karl-Anthony Towns with the hopes that he would become their next franchise player. Now it seems that the love affair has ended.
Bryan Kalbrosky of Hoops Hype, relaying thoughts of Zach Lowe and Brian Windhorst of ESPN during a recent podcast, on the latest scuttlebutt:

“Darren Wolfson [veteran reporter in Minnesota] alluded to a lot of it on a podcast a couple weeks ago. I said on a podcast recently that I just have a gut feeling something crazy is gonna happen there this summer. It’s not in a good place right now internally.”
Windhorst added the Celtics should/could make a call for KAT.

It's that performance, and possibly other moments throughout this season, that has fueled the rumors that Towns could be on his way out of Minnesota sometime sooner than later. His averages were down this year, but he still scored more than 21 points per game this season. But in the playoffs, it was difficult to realize he was even on the floor.
