Boston Celtics superstar point guard Kyrie Irving is best known as one of the most electrifying players in the league and an early candidate to win MVP for the 2017-18 NBA season. However, he has also made headlines for his eccentric personality off the court.

Among the notable topics that Irving has given an interesting take on was that of his flat Earth theory. Now, it seems Christmas Day can be added to that list, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

“The hoopla on Christmas, I don't really get into that,” Irving said. “I don't necessarily think of Christmas as a holiday, so, you know, I'm just happy I get to be with my family.”

Kyrie Irving added that he is more focused on squaring off against the formidable Washington Wizards on Christmas Day.

“Looking forward to playing in front of the fans on the 25th and just playing against a high-level Washington team,” Irving said. “Going against great guys in there and then, of course opening presents and that whole thing.”

The Celtics star's comments should come as no surprise given his notorious reputation as a conspiracy theorist. That said, it is difficult to describe what it exactly he will be doing whenever he does “partake” in the holiday festivities.

Needless to say, the four-time All-Star's unique approach to life seemingly carries over to the basketball court. Not only is Kyrie Irving arguably the best 1-on-1 scorer in the game, but the Celtics point guard has already established himself as perhaps its best closer as well.
