Blake Griffin suffered a scary left knee injury with 4:43 remaining in the fourth quarter of the L.A. Clippers' second test against the Los Angeles Lakers, departing for the rest of the game, unable to move properly. The big man didn't speak to reporters and head coach Doc Rivers didn't give any indications of a diagnosis, only saying that Griffin said he was “OK” heading back to the locker room.

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, early indications are that Griffin has a sprained MCL on his left knee and could be out for an extended period of time.

The Clippers are bound to find out the full extent of the injury later this morning, but judging by the eye test and his initial reaction — it doesn't look like it'd be something easy to shake off.

L.A. could potentially be down two starters in the span of a week, as they recently lost point guard Patrick Beverley for the rest of the season after a microfracture knee surgery. The Clippers are also missing starter Danilo Gallinari with a glute injury and Serbian export Milos Teodosic with a foot injury, still not expected to return until Christmas.

The injuries continue to pile up for this team, despite bouncing back from a nine-game skid into a three-game win streak — but losing the team's best scorer and playmaker will have a resounding effect, which could play a part in the Clippers' ensuing moves through the remainder of this season.
