LOS ANGELES – After an offseason complete with a roster turnover, the one player the LA Clippers hoped to have this season was tenacious guard Patrick Beverley. Unfortunately, his season was cut short when he underwent micro-fracture as well as meniscus surgery in mid-November.

Beverley was ruled out for the entirely of the 2017-18 season, but he's been adamant about returning at some point in the year. The Clippers ruled him out multiple times, but on Saturday afternoon, before LA took on the Denver Nuggets, Beverley told ClutchPoints where he's currently at in his recovery.

“I'm running, I'm shooting, I'm jumping, I'm ball-handling, doing defensive slides,” said Beverley. “I mean, I feel ready, but I guess everyone else is thinking long-term. I wanted to come back like 4-or-5 games ago, but everyone's thinking long-term. Of course, I'm not a doctor. They get paid to do what they do and give me the best advice they possibly can, and the best advice is longevity. I can't argue with that.”

He also said he expects to be fully ready and back to his old self by training camp, which is set to take place in Hawaii for the second-straight year.

“Hell yeah [I'll be ready]!” said Beverley. “120%! I feel strong as sh*t. I've been doing everything, so we'll just see.”

Beverley's presence would've provided the Clippers with an extra guard as well as an extra defender, two things they severely lacked as the season went on. LA somehow stayed within reach of a playoff spot, but simply ran out of gas in the final few weeks of the season.

Beverley was on course for a career year, averaging 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.2 three-pointers per game on 40.3 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc in 11 appearances.
