The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a solid win against the Denver Nuggets, and they have won two straight games since their loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last week. With a matchup looming against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, the Mavericks received good news on the injury front regarding big man Anthony Davis.
Anthony Davis was not listed on the Mavericks injury report for their game against the Heat, as per the NBA’s official injury report, suggesting that he will be good to go. Davis recently made his return to the lineup after a calf injury had him sidelined for 14 consecutive games.
Davis made his return to the lineup during the Mavericks’ loss to the Lakers last Friday. He started the game and finished with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots in what was Davis’ first game back as an opponent at Crypto.com Arena since last season’s trade involving Luka Doncic.
The Mavericks had a back-to-back following the Lakers game, with a crosstown matchup against the LA Clippers. Davis did not play in that game as he continues to manage the calf injury. He suited up in the Mavericks’ win against the Nuggets on Monday, finishing with 32 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocked shots in 28 minutes.
Davis was limited to only five games to start the season before he was sidelined. Coming into Wednesday’s game against the Heat, he’s appeared in seven games, at just about 30 minutes per game. He has been averaging 21.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.6 blocked shots with splits of 53.7 percent shooting from the field, 31.3 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 75 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
