Dallas Mavericks fans are still angry that Luka Doncic was traded from their team last season. One of the reasons is because Doncic is putting up just monster numbers this season for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Doncic had a dazzling game on Friday night. The Lakers star poured in 44 points, and grabbed 12 rebounds. Los Angeles defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 117-112.
Those numbers put Doncic in very rare company.
“Luka Doncic joins Wilt Chamberlain (2x) as the only players in NBA history to start a season with 3 straight 40+ point games!” the account NBA History posted to X, formerly Twitter.
That bonkers stat has Mavericks fans absolutely reeling.
“I am dead inside,” the account All Things Mavs posted, responding to that post.

Mavericks fans also note how happy Doncic looks to be playing with the Lakers.
Dude he genuinely looks amazing I’m sick to my stomach every single day

Doncic's surge also has Dallas fans feeling sorry for their current star, rookie Cooper Flagg.
“I hate this for him, but Cooper Flagg is going to have to be very good to in order to get Mavs fans to forget the trade every night that Luka Doncic plays basketball,” the X account Mavs Film Room posted.
The Lakers are 4-2 on the season, while the Mavericks hold a 2-3 mark.
Mavericks fans remain upset over the Luka Doncic trade
Doncic was dealt last season in a trade involving several players. Luka went to the Lakers, while the Mavericks acquired big man Anthony Davis. The trade upset Mavericks fans so much that they protested outside the arena.
Doncic's start to this season will obviously not do much to ease the anger. He is averaging 45 points a game for the Lakers this season, while shooting 58 percent from the field. The Lakers star has appeared in just three games on the campaign.
The Lakers star guard has missed time this season due to injuries. He has been dealing with a finger problem and leg contusion.
“I feel great. But obviously after we get a win, I feel even better,” Doncic said after the Grizzlies game, per NBA.com. “That’s the whole point.”
It looks for now that Mavericks fans won't be calming down any time soon.
