In a bout of bad news for the Dallas Mavericks, their flight to Denver was cancelled. That means the team will have to travel tomorrow morning prior to 10:30 EST tip-off.

The Mavs are slated to play the Denver Nuggets, one of the top teams in the league. Either way, this is not going to turn into anything more than a minor inconvenience for Dallas.

Travelling on the morning of the game will more than likely have a negative effect on the team's performance that night. It is already hard enough adjusting to the altitude change without adding jet lag into the mix.

With that said, the Mavs are expected to have trouble playing, and that will suck. The good news is that it won't have any playoff implications for Dallas, who is 14th in the Western Conference with a 27-40 record.

If they were in the heat of a tight playoff race, then having to play jet lagged would be a much bigger deal. But alas, they will just be playing jet lagged.

The Nuggets, however, will have to capitalize on this. They enter play today only one game behind the Golden State Warriors. There isn't a question that Denver will find themselves in the playoffs, but a number one seed would be nice.

A win over a jet-lagged, altitude-adjusting Mavericks squad will go a long way in securing that.

It is a tough break for the Mavs, but it could be worse. On the bright side, they all can get one more solid nights sleep in their own beds.
