A new development has just been reported in the distressing narrative that is Delonte West's life. After Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban recently picked up West from a gas station, the former Mavs point guard has reportedly now checked into a rehabilitation facility.

A Delonte West update, as people close to the ex-NBA player going through very difficult personal struggle continue to offer help: Sources say Mavs owner Mark Cuban reunited West with his mother in Dallas on Monday — and now West has checked into rehab facility in Florida.

It is also worth noting that Mark Cuban also conjured up a family reunion between the embattled West and his mother, who presumably has not been in contact with her son for some time now. According to Charania, the Mavs owner first reached out to West's mother:

Delonte West has battled addiction over the years, and he appears to have hit rock bottom with recent photos of himself pointlessly roaming the streets as a homeless person recently made its rounds over social media. Thankfully for him, Cuban caught wind of West's perilous situation, and decided to take it upon himself to lend a helping hand. Reports also state that Cuban has been one of several personalities around the NBA that have been trying to reach out to West for some time now. As it appears, the billionaire got to him just in the nick of time.
West played just one season in Dallas during the 2011-12 season. He averaged 9.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 24.1 minutes per contest. The Mavs opted against renewing his contract at the end of that campaign, which turned out to be West's final year in the NBA. Clearly, everything went downhill from there on out.
