Forget all the drama that surrounds Dennis Smith Jr. and the Dallas Mavericks for a while. The sophomore guard is going to be one of the participants for this year's Slam Dunk contest, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Sources @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium: Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. has committed to the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest in Charlotte.
Smith participated in last year's dunk contest as well but got eliminated in the first round despite the fact that he had arguably one of the best sets of dunks that night.
See for yourself.

Smith is the fourth confirmed participant in the said event, joining Atlanta Hawks' John Collins, Miami Heat's Derrick Jones Jr., and Charlotte Hornets' Miles Bridges.
Both Collins and Bridges will be participating in the event for the first time, while this is going to be Jones' second time in the dunk contest. He participated in 2017, but lost to Glen Robinson III in an underwhelming finale.
Smith will be the most popular player in this year's dunk contest, meaning all eyes will most likely be on him and what he will do, especially since a lot of fans feel that he should've won the contest last year.
