Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd is impressed by Luka Doncic's performance in Game 1 of their playoff series against the Phoenix Suns. Now, he wants someone else from the Mavs to join in their star's scoring party.
Doncic finished with 45 points and almost completed a triple-double with 12 rebounds and eight dimes. However, that production was not enough to give Dallas the W after the Suns led by as much as 21 points.
It didn't help the Mavs that no one else scored more than 20 points for the team, which is why Kidd urged the rest of the team beyond Doncic to step up and show what they can do.

True enough, if the Mavs want any chance of beating the Suns, they need more than just Luka Doncic. The Slovenian wonderboy can only do so much against a sound and well-balanced team like Phoenix.
The Suns had six players scoring in double digits, with Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker finishing with 25 and 23 points, respectively. Had Phoenix played better in the fourth quarter of the game, it would have even ended in a blowout rather than then final 121-114 scoreline.
Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie both struggled for the Mavs, combining for just 21 points. That can't happen in Game 2 for them to erase the homecourt advantage before heading to Dallas .
