Mavs head coach Jason Kidd was asked about the incident after the game.

Kidd continued that he didn't ask Doncic personally if he did speak out any profanities, but he remains hopeful that the NBA will at least give it a look as the Mavs surely look to appeal the decision. However, the Mavs coach clearly isn't too bothered over the entire ordeal.
“Tony was saying that he had to stop the complaining. That's the interpretation of a ref trying to keep the game under control. I get it. It is what it is. It's over with. We'll get ready for San Antonio. If he can play, he plays. If he can't, he moves on to the playoffs and starts with a new slate. It's not a big deal,” the Mavs coach continued.
The Mavs could still very well win that final contest as well, even without Luka Doncic. If that's the case, then it becomes a small silver lining that their star got an extra game of rest before the postseason grind. With the Spurs having nothing to play for in their final contest, it's possible that they opt to sit their starters in an attempt to mitigate injuries for their key players. But nonetheless, Luka Doncic must learn to keep his emotions in check in order to avoid situations like this from happening.
