It's safe to say no one expected the Dallas Mavericks to win Game 7. In fact, many thought that Jason Kidd's men would be blown out by the Phoenix Suns given that they have failed to win on the road in the said series.

After the Mavs proved their doubters wrong with a 123-90 smashing of the Suns on Sunday, however, Kidd made sure to remind the critics what they said about his team heading into the match.

“I hate when we label or cap something. We don't know how far this can go. That's why we play them. That's why we showed up this evening. A lot of people said this would be a blowout. Well, they were right,” Kidd said, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News. “But they didn’t have us as the winning team.”

Jason Kidd has every right to call out the haters and doubters for sure. The turnaround the Mavs had since he took over is simply amazing. Now, they are just eight wins away from lifting the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Of course that is still quite a long way. They have to face the Golden State Warriors first in the West Finals before thinking of the championship. Nonetheless, Jason Kidd and the Mavs have to be overflowing with confidence after showing everyone that underdogs have a way to win.

Surely, no one is writing off the Mavs now as they head to the conference finale.
