Mavs big man Kristaps Porzingis will face off against his former team, the New York Knicks, on Friday night. Some players might feel nervous about this type of scenario, but Porzingis is viewing it as “just another game,” according to a report from Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

“It’s another game,” Porzingis said. It’s another game and I’m looking forward to the game and getting a win most importantly, but also for myself individually I want to get back in my groove.”

Porzingis signed a five-year, $158-million max contract with the Mavs back in July. By most accounts, it's a solid addition to an already talented roster that is led by Luka Doncic.

Unfortunately, Porzingis was sidelined for nearly two years with an ACL injury. He's since recovered, but now he's trying to find his rhythm again:

“I’m happy that we were able to get the win with me playing as awful as I did,” Porzingis said via the New York Post after his 10-point performance in Wednesday's win over the Orlando Magic. “I have to get the feel back. I have to get it back. The spots that I’m getting to, to get my shots are not maybe the usual spots that I was getting used to when I played in New York.”

Though he admits that he's still adjusting, Kristaps is playing well. He's made seven appearances with the Mavs thus far, racking up averages of 19.0 points on 41.2 percent shooting from the field (36.4 percent from beyond the arc), 8.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.3 blocks in 32.6 minutes per outing.

Friday night's matchup between the Mavs and Knicks is set to tip inside the American Airlines Center at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Let's see how Porzingis fares against his old squad.
