Luka Doncic knows exactly what he needs to do to help the Dallas Mavericks beat the Phoenix Suns, but it's easier said than done.

The Suns are picking Doncic on defense, which has allowed them to dominate Games 1 and 2 offensively. Even Mavs head coach Jason Kidd called out the Slovenian wonderboy on Friday, noting that he should “got to participate” and “play defense” like the rest of the team.

His offense is crucial for the Mavs, but it'll be useless if the Suns continue to hunt and attack him. Sure enough, Doncic agreed with the sentiment.

“I just got to play better defense. That’s it. … I think mostly me, but I think we got to trust our shell better,” Doncic said ahead of Game 3 of the series in Dallas, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Luka Doncic got torched by Chris Paul in Game 2, during which the Suns guard kept on attacking him and the Mavs' defense in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 129-109 win.

True enough, the Mavs cannot allow the same thing to happen for the rest of the series if they don't want to get swept. The Suns are already a bad matchup to them, but it doesn't mean they don't have a fighting chance. However, they need to be as perfect as they can be to have any hope of winning.
