Former MVP Steve Nash and Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki had plenty of countless memories as teammates with the Mavs and in the day of Nash's enshrinement into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, they opened up the door to some of them.
The two internationals were always seen close to each other, often joking around or practicing together, or mingling with the rest of the team during warmups, but the bond they shared during their first few years in the league has remained strong to this day.

“He’s smart, he’s funny, he’s just a good dude. He’s got a huge heart, he’s always fitting in stuff for the community, always up for a good time, for jokes. There’s never really a dull moment with him.”
Nowitzki initially trolled Nash and former teammate Jason Kidd before the two were enshrined, and Nash clapped back in due fashion, but the soon-to-be Hall of Famer also showed he's got some love for the German big man, sharing an anecdote from the 7-footer's rookie year in the league.
“It was my third year in the league, his first,” said Nash. “Our apartments were in the same complex, we went to the gym twice a day together during the (1998-'99 NBA) lockout. We seemingly had almost every meal together throughout the season.”
“I’d rather not (talk about them),” said Nash. “I had a lot of bad haircuts. You’re young and dumb. You get reminded of it every time you see a photograph.”
