Undrafted rookie forward Derek Willis has agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Willis played all four years in the pro factory that is the University of Kentucky, picking up a major boost in minutes in his last two seasons at the school.

At 6-foot, 9-inches, the 22-year-old fits right in as a prototype shooting big man, who possesses decent athletic ability and defensive instincts.

Willis averaged 7.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game in his last season with the Wildcats, while shooting 37.7 percent from deep in his senior year and 44.2 percent the prior season.

His 7-foot wingspan will allow him to play at either forward spot and stretch the floor with his shooting.

Due to the presence of Tobias Harris and Jon Leuer, Willis could have a hard time making the rotation, especially with young Stanley Johnson coming up within the system, but if he shoots the ball well from the start, he could carve a niche at the end of the rotation.
