The New Year has ushered in some heating up Andre Drummond trade rumors and the Detroit Pistons center is hearing all about them.

Despite hearing the chatter to go along with the uncertainty that his future holds, Drummond still claims that he wants to stay with the Pistons for the rest of his career.

“I'm not a quitter, for one,” Drummond said per Nick Friedell of ESPN. “I was never brought up to be a quitter. If I start somewhere, I try to finish there, try to complete the mission, which is to win a championship here. It will never be me that wants to go anywhere … I love being here. I would love to play here the rest of my career.”

The Pistons have reportedly been engaged in talks with several teams, most notably the Atlanta Hawks, regarding a deal involving the All-Star center over the last couple of days.

Drummond didn't appear to be too distracted with all the noise as he helped lead the Pistons to a 111-104 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. It was business as usual for the two-time All-Star as he registered another monster double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Despite the win, the Pistons are still 3 games back from the final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. After exceeding expectations last year and making the playoffs, Detroit has taken a major step back this season. They are currently at 11th in the East standings with a 13-23 record.

Should the Pistons want to hit the reset button as early as now, dealing Drummond should give them a substantial foundation of assets for a rebuild.

Drummond has $28.8-million player option next season that he can decline to enter unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2020.
