Forward Blake Griffin will suit up for his new team for the first time tonight, making his debut as the Detroit Pistons take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

His addition is expected to bring a different dimension to this team immediately, as Stan Van Gundy takes a huge risk incorporating him with no time to waste, as he's yet to have a practice with the team under his belt.

Griffin had missed Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, as the Pistons shook off an eight-game skid to top the Cavs 125-114, thanks to Stanley Johnson's career-night.

The 28-year-old is expected to start alongside the leading rebounder in the league, Andre Drummond, who hauled in a whopping 22 rebounds along with 21 points in a winning effort against the third-best team in the East.

Griffin was brought in to be the difference and the turning of the tide for this struggling Motor City team that started off the right foot, but has fallen off the playoff window this month.

The Oklahoma product is averaging a healthy 22.6 points per game, but has done so at the cost of a declining shooting percentage, shooting the lowest percentage of his NBA career at 44.1 for the season. This comes at the heels of seeking to expand his game by stepping out to the 3-point line, where he has shot a measly 34.2 percent, while taking three times as many treys per game as he ever has in any season of his career.

The Pistons are in dire need of outside shooting with the departure of two of their best marksmen in Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley, who were part of the six-man swap in the trade with the L.A. Clippers.
