Cade Cunningham made Detroit Pistons history on Wednesday with his fifth-straight 20-point game, a feat achieved by only Grant Hill and a couple of others.
The Pistons lost to the Chicago Bulls 114-108, but it wasn't without any positive as Cunningham continues to impress and provide hope for the future of the franchise. The 2021 No. 1 overall pick finished the game with 22 points, four rebounds and six assists. He was also efficient scoring the ball, going 9-of-15 including 2-of-3 on his 3-pointers.
In the process, Cunningham became just the fourth rookie in Pistons history to record such 20-point streak. As mentioned, he joins Hill alongside David Bing and Kelly Tripucka on the exclusive list.
Cade Cunningham has scored 20+ pts for the fifth-straight game, becoming the fourth Pistons rookie (D. Bing, K. Tripucka, G. Hill) to ever record as long of a 20-point streak. No other NBA rookie this season has done so in more than two-straight games. #Pistons

Cade Cunningham looks like he is making a late push for Rookie of the Year award, and while he is facing tough competition from Evan Mobley, there is no doubt he has shown why he is the top pick of his draft class.
He'll also be happy to join Grant Hill in a Pistons record, given the fact that he has been often compared to the NBA legend. Not only do they have the same size and height, but their style of play that highlights versatility is also similar.
Of course Cunningham has also been viewed as a player with the same upside as Luka Doncic, and it only goes to show his untapped potential. Hopefully, he'll be able to live up to expectations no matter how heavy they are.
