Detroit Pistons center Christian Wood is one of the seven NBA players that has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Per Rod Beard of The Detroit News, the Pistons are testing 17 members of their traveling party from Philadelphia for the coronavirus through a private lab:

The Pistons had one player — Christian Wood — with a preliminary positive test for COVID-19, and a league source tells The Detroit News that 17 of the 50-plus members of the group that traveled have been tested. The results of all of the remaining 16 tests have not been completed, though there were no additional positive tests as of Wednesday night.

The Pistons played the Utah Jazz on March 7. Jazz stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Pistons faced the Sixers on March 11. The season was suspended that night after Gobert's test results became known by the NBA.

Along with Gobert, Mitchell and Wood, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant and three of his teammates have the virus. We don't know who the three other players on the Nets are.

Before the season got suspended, the Pistons were in the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 20-46. They were going to miss the playoffs after making it last season for the first time since 2016.

Former MVP Derrick Rose led the Pistons in scoring this season. He was putting up 18.1 points per game.
