The Detroit Pistons announced on Tuesday that star point guard Derrick Rose will miss at least two weeks with a right ankle sprain.
Some believe the Pistons should sit Rose out for the rest of the season since Detroit is headed for the lottery. Head coach Dwane Casey told reporters on Tuesday he's not sure if Rose has played his last game in 2019-20:

Rose has been the best player on the Pistons this season. The Chicago native is averaging 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 50 games while shooting 49.0 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line.
The Pistons and Rose can be cautious with the ankle sprain since Detroit is going to miss the playoffs this season. The Pistons are only 20-42 on the campaign, 11th in the Eastern Conference standings.
Rose signed a two-year deal with Detroit this past summer in free agency. The Pistons didn’t trade Rose at the trade deadline in February despite multiple interests, which shows the team’s belief that his presence is beneficial as the team enters a rebuild.
Rose's 2018-19 season with the Minnesota Timberwolves ended early as well after the three-time All-Star was forced to undergo a minor procedure on his elbow. The former No. 1 overall pick has career NBA averages of 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 596 games with the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Pistons.
