Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant was unstoppable in their close out Game 6 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.

KD scored a playoff career-high 50 points on 15-of-26 field goal shooting, including six bombs from beyond the arc, while going 14-of-15 from the free-throw line. There was simply nothing that Patrick Beverley or any other Clippers defender could do to stop Durant from his onslaught.

During the post-game interview, Beverley and Lou Williams admitted that they tried everything possible to stop the two-time Finals MVP, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.

“We tried everything.” Williams said, as the room burst into laughter. “We had several different coverages for KD.”

“It didn't work.” Beverley chimed in.

The reigning Sixth Man of the Year then went on to praise Durant, describing him as one of those special people that no defensive coverage or scheme could contain.

Beverley, who had been going at Durant in the entire series, had no choice but to tip his hat to KD as the Clippers' inspirational 2018-19 campaign came to a close on Friday.

Durant certainly proved his worth to the two-time defending champions last night, putting the Warriors on his back to lead them to 129-110 victory in Game 6. 38 of his 50 points came in a scintillating first half, as he picked apart the Clippers defense and went to work.

The Warriors will now move on to the second round to face the Houston Rockets in what should be another bloodbath between last year's Western Conference Finals protagonists.

The Clippers, on the other hand, can take this opportunity to reflect on how great of a season they had despite being devoid of a bonafide superstar. There certainly are plenty of positives to pick up from their effort this year, especially with how they gave Golden State a tough fight in the first round.
