The rivalry between the Golden State Warriors and the L.A. Clippers just keeps getting more fierce by the minute. A few more sticks were thrown into the fire after Paul Pierce criticized Kevin Durant‘s signing with the runners-up in an interview with Sirius XM radio.

All-Star forward Draymond Green was quick to respond to Pierce's comments with a rant of his own, according to Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News.

Green didn't pull any punches with this one and his defense of Durant is sure to net him some credit with the four-time scoring champion.

Pierce and the Clippers are 10 days removed from losing by 45 points to the Warriors in a preseason game that left coach Doc Rivers re-assessing his team's effort.

A mano a mano encounter between Pierce and Durant or Pierce and Green is bound to happen throughout the season, as the two teams face each other four times as members of the Pacific Division.

The Clippers will test their mettle against their rivals for the first time in the regular season when they host the Warriors on Wednesday, Dec. 7 on ESPN.
