Per the release: “DeMarcus continues to make good progress with his rehabilitation program. After spending the last few weeks doing various individual on-court activities and drills, he will, in the near future, be integrated into controlled aspects of team practices, although not scrimmages at this point. Additionally, he will continue with his off-court strength and conditioning.”
It is important to note from this release is that Cousins is not cleared to do scrimmages yet. That seems to be the next stage before he eventually returns onto to the court.
This is the latest update from the team. The last update we heard was when coach Steve Kerr told Mark Medina of the Mercury News Cousins was “right on schedule.”

“Beyond that, there’s nothing. No prediction. Especially with an Achilles injury, you have to wait and see how the player responds once he’s on the court and moving at full speed.”
This is excellent news for the Warriors and their fans. It seems like he is on progress with his rehab coming back from his Achilles injury. He suffered the injury while he was still playing with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Cousins, once he comes back from injury will add another weapon to the team. It will be interesting to see once he comes back on how the team will adjust to him once he gets back.
Cousins signing with the Warriors was the biggest storyline during free agency besides LeBron James signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Cousins with the Pelicans averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks and steals per game.
