One of the more unusual encounters between a player and fan happened this season during an autograph signing session with Klay Thompson. Instead of the more common items supporters have them sign, like shirts, basketballs, and caps, a fan brought an oven toaster and wanted the Golden State Warriors shooting guard to place his signature on it.

Now that the Dubs are once again in the finals and have breezed through the three playoff rounds, the three-time All-Star found a way to remind the reporters around him about the most unique signing experience.

Thompson is currently on a slump and has not been producing the same numbers he’s had during the regular season. In 12 playoff games so far, the former Washington State standout is only averaging 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. Although their team continues to win, the Oakland faithful is also hopeful that he can bounce back quickly and help his team in the finals, and maybe with a little help from the toaster as well.

Thompson’s hilarious comment proves how relaxed he is heading to their third straight finals showdown against the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, it’s expected that he’ll be more serious starting on Thursday night, when they host Game 1 of the series.
