The Golden State Warriors have cruised through the playoffs behind an unblemished run to the NBA Finals that was added with a dominating 113-91 win in Game 1 over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
Kevin Durant has played a major part of that tremendous amount of success as one of the team's leading scorers. His teammate Klay Thompson on Friday spoke of the huge impact that Durant has had on the Warriors in this year's playoffs.

“Last year's playoffs felt like a war every game. This year we're 13–0. We are playing at a very high level, so I'm pleasantly surprised that we have been this successful. But we still got a long way to go. We know what our goal is and that is getting a championship. Up to this point, we couldn't ask for a better start.”

It has essentially been a cake walk for Golden State through the first 13 games of the postseason with little resistance from opponents. Durant was at the forefront of that in Game 1 as he posted a near triple-double with a team-high 38 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists and no turnovers in the win.
He joins Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal and Michael Jordan to score at least 38 points with no turnovers in an NBA Finals game. Durant has been strong in the playoffs averaging 26.4 points on 55.4 percent shooting from the field with 7.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
If Durant can keep up this high level of production, it could put him and the Warriors on the fast track to hoisting the Larry O'Brien trophy as the 2017 NBA champions.
