Way back when Jeremy Lin was a rookie, well before Linsanity took over New York City, Monta Ellis provided the youngster with jeans.
I kid you not. This is not a joke. It is not a shame. It's not some random filler for offseason content…
Well, I mean, it is partially that, but this is a real story. Don't believe me? Look at this footage from the depths of YouTube:

Speaking at the National Chengchi University in Taiwan, where he was obviously giving a commencement speech, Jeremy Lin told a story about former Warriors teammate-ish Monta Ellis that is as cool as the other side of the pillow.
It was about doing things the right way, even if no one was looking and certainly not wanting to take credit for a good thing done.
The Harvard graduate said that he entered a league owning only one pair of jeans. For those unaware, the singular of jeans is still jeans, not jean. Jean, my friends, is your grandmother's best friend, Jean. Anyway, Ellis thought that was unacceptable for Lin to have only one pair of jeans, then decided to buy Lin 20 pairs of jeans at $200 a pop.
This leads to an obvious question. Why do we say a singular pair of jeans is a pair at all?
