Los Angeles, CA – The Golden State Warriors looked to start the second half of the season on a good note, but things didn't go as planned. Stephen Curry knows this as well as anyone on the roster.

The first game back from a quick All-Star break ended in a 130-104 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The defeat also starts their longest losing streak of the season, as the Warriors dropped their fourth consecutive game.

Emotions ran high throughout the game, and Stephen Curry was seen on camera in the third quarter very animated in an attempt to fire up his teammates before the game got out of hand. The Warriors were outscored by 15 in the quarter after that moment. Nothing seemed to go the Warriors' way. Curry talked to the media post-game about the toll this losing streak is taking on him.

“It sucks right now,” Stephen Curry said. “Nobody likes this feeling especially coming off the break. We're trying to recharge and rejuvenate some energy then we come out flat. We don't want to look back, but that Portland game hurt obviously the phoenix game we were undermanned.”

“Tonight we played a team who wasn't playing well to their standards, and they took advantage of the game,” Stephen Curry continued. “We understood the stretch coming out of the break three really good teams, and we have two swings at it at home, and we have to find a way to be competitive, win, and get back to feeling good about ourselves.”

The Warriors falling to the Clippers drops their record to an unimpressive 19-19, which pretty much mirrors the team's performances on a nightly basis. In some games, the Warriors look extremely good, and then there's a night like against the Clippers. Golden State has put together one win streak of three games right before this four-game skid.

These are challenging times for the Warriors, and everyone is looking for answers.

“It's different its tough nobody likes the feeling of getting smacked in a game like tonight,” Curry said after the game. “We've had some really good moments as well, so I feel like the vibe of games like tonight and some of those big wins, every game feels like two. It's like an emotional roller coaster that you have to focus on staying even kill. That competitive fire always remains, but we've done a pretty good job of adjusting, we just haven't found any consistency, and that is a frustrating thing for sure. We're going to have to find that if we want to be a threat in the playoffs, but that's on us to figure out.”

It's officially the second half of the season, and teams are gearing up to make moves and take strides towards a playoff push. Time is critical for the Warriors, especially since it appears they are still figuring things out, and maybe some doubt is creeping into the locker room. Coach Steve Kerr shared his perspective on emotions after the team's most recent defeat.

“Early in the year, it felt like we had a long way to go, so there was frustration, but we knew we were going to get better. I think the frustration was greater tonight because we have proven that we can be competitive and win games, and we made a lot of strides over the last six or seven weeks, and we were not competitive tonight, and we did not bring it.”

The Warriors and Stephen Curry have to figure things out, and they have to do it expeditiously if they want to be in this year's Playoffs.
