A professional athlete's biggest nightmare is injuries. Unfortunately for Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, he has suffered many throughout his career, most of them being ankle injuries.

When your the team's franchise player, injuries come at a higher price and increased fear.

Curry endured another startling injury at the end of the third quarter against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. The Warriors won, 108-94, but lost the larger war.

Curry was fading out of bounds after a shot, then anticipated a bench to be near to stop him from falling, but there was nothing there. The Warriors icon fell on his backside, giving him a tailbone contusion.

The primary reason this injury is so scary is that the team is already without All-Star Klay Thompson due to a season-ending injury. Missing Curry for an extended amount of time could take them out of playoff contention.

For this post, however, we're going to focus on the three injuries Stephen Curry suffered that were the scariest of the Warriors guard's career.

Against the Atlanta Hawks, Stephen Curry suffered a leg injury that ended up being a knee strain. This was one of his scariest injuries because of his 7-foot teammate JaVale McGee. McGee was attempting to block a shot. He got tripped up and fell on Curry's leg. His leg was bent awkwardly, forcing Curry to vacate the game hobbling off the court. It was Curry's first game back from one of his several ankle injuries that kept him out the six games prior.

The second injury that comes to mind is Russell Westbrook landing on Curry's ankle while defending him. Curry drove to the basket with Westbrook on his hip. As Curry jumped and passed the ball, Westbrook jumped, anticipating a shot, then ended up landing right on top of Curry's ankle. Curry went down immediately and yelled in frustration for his teammates to foul so he could leave the game. Curry has had a plethora of ankle injuries. Westbrook landing on his ankle was just one of the uglier ones.

Last but not least was in the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets. Trevor Ariza was on a fastbreak with Curry chasing him down. He stopped and pump-faked, which resulting in Stephen Curry jumping. His momentum carried him over Ariza, tripping him in mid-air with nowhere to go but down. Curry flipped over and landed hard on his head and neck area. In what was a truly horrific moment, the Warriors star did not move for a while and had to be helped off the court by the training staff.

Curry is the definition of a Warrior. He's battled many scary injuries, and this is another one he is sure to bounce back from quickly. Coach Steve Kerr told the media no MRI or X-rays are necessary to his knowledge. So that's a piece of good news to hear about two-time MVP Stephen Curry. It's also good news for the Warriors, as they continue to try to find their way already riddled with hurt players.
