Despite a noteworthy performance on Saturday in a 115-101 win against the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins is still feeling held back by his minutes restriction.

As we all know, Cousins suffered a career-threatening Achilles tear last season, which led to a lengthy spell on the sidelines. After sitting out for almost a full calendar year, he made his much-awaited comeback on Jan. 18 against the Los Angeles Clippers. The 28-year-old has only suited up for the Dubs in seven games since, and he has yet to eclipse the 25-minute mark due to a team-imposed minutes cap.

This is quite understandable for Cousins, who is surely itching to get back to top form. However, we know that deep down, he understands why the team is currently restricting his minutes. The last thing anyone wants is for him to aggravate the injury, so it is only right that the Warriors err on the side of caution here.

Despite his limitations, however, Cousins was still able to help his squad to a victory against the Lakers on Saturday. The 6-foot-11 center recorded an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double along with a 3-pointer and two blocks. He is somewhat still showing some signs of rust as he shot only 5-of-15 from the floor, but he made up for it through his pristine 7-of-7 showing from the charity stripe.

It's only a matter of time before the team lifts Cousins' minutes cap, but until then, he will need to be patient and just go along with the ride.
