Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins says he was “ready to quit” after suffering a torn left quad in Game 2 of the Warriors' first round matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Cousins tore his Achilles tendon last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. After a long rehab process, Boogie made his 2018-19 season debut in January and played in 30 games during the regular season. The All-Star was excited to play in the postseason for the first time in his career, but it all went away so quickly after Cousins got hurt in his second game of the playoffs.

“I was just ready to quit,” Cousins told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “Like, throw the towel in. Human nature is like why me, why now, what did I do wrong, why did I deserve this.”

Cousins, though, didn't give up and attacked his rehab with full force. Now, the talented big man is back for the Warriors, playing on the NBA's biggest stage.

Cousins played great in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. He put up 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes. It's remarkable Boogie returned from his injury as quick as he did. No one expected him to come back this season.

The Warriors are very happy Cousins is back.
