Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green plans to appeal the $120,000 game-check fine that came with his one-game, team-prompted suspension that saw him miss Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Draymond Green was disciplined by the organization after a profanity-laced tirade targeting teammate Kevin Durant, which quickly got out of hand and put game matters aside, quickly becoming a toxic barrage of Durant's free-agency decisions.

Team-issued fines are rarely appealed, given that teams usually meet with the player before imposing the terms of the suspension. Green was told this would be a “cool-off game” for him after his very public altercation with Durant, but losing out on $120,000 seems like more than what he's willing to part with.

The total amount of his fine will be deposited in an interest-bearing separate bank account, as Green has 30 days from the time of his suspension announcement (Tuesday) to appeal the franchise's decision, according to ESPN Insider Bobby Marks.

The NBPA would help Draymond Green seek a case for dismissing or reducing his fine, depending on the supporting arguments of why the franchise mishandled his fine/suspension.

Challenging this ruling is expected to only bring more friction between Green and the organization, a relationship that is already expected to be on frail terms, as he's believed to think the Warriors' front office is strongly siding with Kevin Durant after their altercation.

The matter will likely be resolved a lot less publicly than his locker room tirade, as teams prefer to keep the terms of their hearings with the NBPA relatively private.
