Draymond Green has been dealing with some nagging knee soreness as the Golden State Warriors prepare for the opening of the 2018-19 NBA season. While the knee soreness has been a bit of a concern, the Warriors' star is hoping to make his return to the court at some point in the near future.
According to a report from Monte Pool of NBC Sports, Green will miss the Warriors' preseason matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, but is hoping to return against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
Steve Kerr gave a short quote about Green and stated that he wants to get Green into some game action on Wednesday.
“We’d like to get him in the game Wednesday.”
That may be short and sweet, but the Warriors and their fans should be excited to hear this update. Golden State needs a healthy Green on the court to start the season. He may not be their most talented player, but he is the heart and soul of what the Warriors do night in and night out.

There are very few players in the league who are capable of impacting the game in as many ways as Green can at such a high level.
Golden State is scheduled to open the regular season on October 16 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Green should have plenty of time to get his knee right before then. Whether he plays big minutes against the Lakers or simply plays 15-20, that should be plenty of action for him.
Expect to see Green take the court at some point barring a setback and it will be interesting to see how explosive he looks on his sore knee.
