The Golden State Warriors would have loved to re-sign Kevin Durant in the past offseason, but president of basketball operations Bob Myers has no qualms with KD taking his talents to the Brooklyn Nets.

Speaking on ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski's “The Woj Pod” podcast, Myers only had positive feelings to share towards Durant.

“The guy came to our team, was MVP of the Finals twice, two championships, three Finals,” the Warriors exec said. “What do you want to happen? What do you expect out of a human being? What is the problem with that?”

Myers acknowledged that people will always speculate about the reasons behind Durant's decision to leave the Warriors, but he'd rather focus on his positive experiences with Durant.

“Everybody is so fast to look at what's wrong with a team, and I was just so focused on — and still am — on what was right with all those things, even in losing,” Myers pointed out. “Even in the effort you make to win or lose, there are great experiences there…I liked the guy.

Bob Myers also dismissed the criticisms Kevin Durant received (and continues to receive) for his various career moves.

“A lot of people…would say he shouldn't have left or he shouldn't have done this —  everybody's telling him how to live his life…just because you don't understand doesn't mean he's confused.”

The Warriors' president is also well aware that in today's NBA, players move around more than ever. With that, Myers — who is a former agent himself and knows the business side of the NBA — understands the reality in the league.

“Players are allowed to do whatever they want to do, whether it's him or anybody else,” Myers added. “In professional sports, you sign contracts, and when you're free you get to do what you want to do. You can't criticize a guy for that.”
