The Golden State Warriors lost for the fourth time in six games on Thursday, falling to the Orlando Magic 103-96 after getting outscored by a whopping 18 points in the fourth quarter. Playing without a resting Kevin Durant but welcoming back DeMarcus Cousins, it was a frustrating performance for the Warriors overall, with Steve Kerr's team going a dismal 9-of-40 from beyond the arc and dishing out just 16 assists, a season-low. Stephe Curry and Klay Thompson needed 56 shots to score 54 points, too.
Not all was lost for Golden State against the Magic, though, as Cousins played one of his finest games since debuting with the two-time defending champions last month, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on 8-of-16 shooting in a season-high 32 minutes. After the game, the Warriors' newest All-Star told reporters how his re-acclimation is going after missing almost a full year of play due to an Achilles tear.
“It's coming along for me. Like you said, I'm getting a little more comfortable and my rhythm's calling. It's just a matter of time until I really get into the swing of things. Just trying to take it one game at a time, and hopefully things figure themselves out,” he said, per Mark Medina of The Mercury News.
“Touch is coming back. Being able to finish through contact and things like that – it's all coming back for me. It's just a matter of time, trying to take it a game at a time, pick my spots when to be aggressive. But it's coming along slow for sure,” he continued.
There is one thing Cousins is definitely satisfied with, though: His three-pointer, which he referred to as “babygirl.”

Well, once “babygirl” finally returns then Cousins could very well continue his audition to become the third Splash Brother.
