Jordan Poole told his critics to wake up after shooting 50% from the 3-point line in the Golden State Warriors' 105-102 win against the Detroit Pistons. When asked about his sub-30% shooting from 3 before the game against the Pistons, Poole responded:
“I shot 50 tonight. That’s it. That’s all it is. Wake up, it’s a new day.”
Stepping up for a Warriors team playing without Steph Curry and Draymond Green, Poole dropped a season-high 32 points. 22 of his 32 points came in the first half. In total, he shot 13-of-22 with a plus-18 net rating to silence critics of his 3-point shooting struggles earlier in the season. The 50% shooting he referenced in the press conference was due to his 4-for-8 shooting from distance.

Such was his dominance that he sunk one from the logo as early as the first quarter. In addition to his on-point shooting, Poole also bagged 7 rebounds and 2 assists during the 37 minutes he spent on the court.
The win against the Pistons was the third successive victory for the Warriors who sit 1st in the Western Conference having lost just twice up to this point. The Dubs will be hoping Poole can build on his impressive performance as the season progresses, more so when playing with the likes of Curry and Green.
Despite Poole's cool response to questions aimed at his 3-point shooting, one good game will not be enough to stop the criticism. Whatever the case, Jordan Poole's 50% against the Pistons will be cause for celebration both for him and the Warriors moving forward.
