Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Kevin Durant is likely out for the entire 2019-20 season because of the ruptured Achilles he suffered in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. However, even before the unfortunate event took place, there were already tons of discussion between fans and media experts about whether or not KD's first injury already had something to do with the Achilles tendon in his right foot.
In Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-finals, Durant went down with what was officially announced as a calf strain. But some people were not convinced. When photos of Durant's right foot having ice packs made its rounds on social media, there are several experts who said that it's too low to be a calf injury.
Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins is no medical expert, but he is siding with those who said that KD already suffered an Achilles injury before he returned in Game 5, and if it wasn't torn back then, him deciding to play just made things worse.

Perkins, who once played with Durant for the Oklahoma City Thunder, said he talked to the two-time Finals MVP and convinced him not to play if he was not 100 percent. He also said that KD had nothing to prove because he's already one of the best players in the world and he already helped the Warriors win two championships.
Perk also said that Durant's injury has an effect on the upcoming free agency, particularly on those teams who have freed cap space to sign him.
KD, who underwent successful surgery on his right Achilles, said on Instagram that he decided to play to help his teammates stave off elimination as they were down 3-1 against the Raptors prior to their Game 5 win.
