For the past few months, NBA experts and analysts have been speculating as to where Kevin Durant will be playing next season. Some feel that he will leave the Warriors, while others believe he'll remain with the team.
Durant recently spoke with Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated to discuss his looming free agency. During the wide-ranging interview, Durant noted his affinity for the Bay Area. In fact, he likened the atmosphere in the city to that of his hometown:
“It’s a place where you can blend in,” Durant told The Undefeated. “I always wanted to blend in and do my thing. I’ve lived in a couple places here in the Bay. Moving around and seeing the people here, I can relate to everybody here. When I drive around Oakland, I feel like I am in Maryland and D.C. Then when I go to the city [San Francisco], it feels like I am in the heart of Washington, D.C.”
“It reminds me so much of home,” Durant added. “That is what made me really comfortable, especially moving to San Francisco last year. It has made me comfortable because it’s the same style, same core life as back at home.”

The fact that Durant feels comfortable with his surroundings is certainly a good sign for the Warriors and their fans, but it doesn't necessarily mean that he is intent on staying. After all, Golden State will have several payroll decisions to make at the conclusion of this campaign.
Would the Warriors want Durant back next season? Of course they would. Will he actually be back, though? That remains to be seen. For now, he'll be focused on the task at hand.
