The Golden State Warriors will be playing the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night without DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Iguodala and possibly Kevon Looney.

Prior to their 126-91 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had already stated that they are planning to rest some of their key players as they prepare for the playoffs. Stephen Curry already had his chance to rest against the Mavs, so he is expected to suit up against the Pistons.

The decision to rest Cousins is just a precautionary measure to ensure that he's 100 percent for the postseason. He's only been playing for two months since missing almost an entire year due to an Achilles tear he suffered last season while playing for the New Orleans Pelicans. While the former All-Star is starting to show significant improvement on the court, there are still some stretches where he's looked tired, which is understandable for someone who had been sidelined for 11 months.

Iguodala has been in and out of the lineup this season due to various injuries, and resting him is crucial for the Warriors. The former Finals MVP will play a crucial role for Golden State in the playoffs, serving as the primary scoring option off the bench.

Looney scored 12 points against the Mavs, indicating that he can play through this injury. But if the Warriors decide to sit him out, it's probably because of load management as well.

Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are all expected to play against Detroit, but could be given a chance to rest over the next several games.
