As the league gears up for All-Star weekend, which will be here in just a few weeks, the list of names for the 3-point contest, Slam Dunk contest, and Skills Challenge will begin rounding out. However, it looks like the 3-point contest will be missing one of the league's best 3-point shooters. Thompson's absence in the contest will definitely feel odd for viewers, as he has participated in each of its editions over the last four years, even taking home the trophy in 2016. Klay even placed his name in the 3-point contest record books, holding the third-most points scored in a round with 27. He is also in a four-way tie for fourth with 25 points.

It is still unsure whether or not he will choose to participate, but even if fans don’t get to see him in the 3-point contest, they will at least get the chance to see him during the All-Star game as a reserve.
