Thompson was so sick that he didn't show up to the practice facility on Friday. That was probably the right thing to do so the All-Star guard can get more rest.
Article Continues BelowIn 50 games this season for the Warriors, Thompson is averaging 21.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He was named to his fifth All-Star team on Thursday.
Thompson is shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 80.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were the only players on the team to hit a 3-pointer on Thursday against the Sixers. The absence of Thompson allowed Philly to focus on Curry and Durant. It just shows how valuable Klay is to Golden State. His gravity alone frees up players for open shots.
Golden State is 36-15 on the season. They are still in first place in the Western Conference standings. If Thompson has to sit out again on Saturday, all signs point to Alfonzo McKinnie starting in his place once again.
