Klay Thompson expressed some sense of optimism after a gutting 31-point blown lead cost the Golden State Warriors Game 2 against the LA Clippers. The Warriors guard is confident he and his teammates can bounce back from this historic playoff loss:
“I know we'll bounce back,” Thompson said after the game, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle. “We're too prideful not to.”
The Warriors led 94-63 with 7:31 left in the third quarter after a Kevin Durant and-1 play, but the wheels fell off after that, with Stephen Curry on the bench with four fouls and a discombobulated defense that allowed penetrating runs and a series of open shots for the hungry Clippers, determined to hang around:
“We let our guard down,” said Thompson. “We weren't the aggressors anymore. We didn't deserve to win that game.”

Patrick Beverley has become more than a pest for Golden State, not only disrupting Stephen Curry's momentum after leading all first-half scorers with 22 points, but also forcing him to take a seat during two-thirds of the third quarter, as well as pecking Kevin Durant with several fouls.
Durant and Beverley would eventually foul out, but this has proven exactly the muddy, gritty, elbow-grease type of game that the Clippers need to play to have a chance against a juggernaut like the Warriors.
DeMarcus Cousins' serious quad injury could also play a factor in the Warriors' three-peat hopes, giving Golden State one less All-Star to work with throughout this playoff run.
