Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson thinks the Dubs' current starting five “could be a Team USA starting five.”

The Warriors have five All-Stars in their starting lineup in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins. It's one of the most lethal starting lineups in NBA history.

“I think our starting five could be a Team USA starting five,” Thompson said, via Nick Friedell of ESPN. “That's how good it is. I'm very grateful to be in this position, not a lot of players ever experience something like this in any sport.”

The Warriors' starting five of Curry, Thompson, Durant, Green and Cousins has combined for 19 All-NBA selections, 28 All-Star Game appearances, five scoring titles, five Olympic gold medals, three MVP awards and a Defensive Player of the Year trophy.

Curry and Thompson are two of the greatest shooters in NBA history. Durant is one of the best scorers the game has ever seen. Green is a swiss army knife whose value can't be measured in stats. And Cousins is a walking double-double and a force in the post when he's 100 percent.

The Warriors are trying to appreciate this starting five because this season will likely be the only year it will exist. Cousins is only making $5.3 million this year. Assuming he stays healthy and has a productive playoff run, Boogie will likely command a max contract in free agency this summer.

Durant has a player option for the 2019-20 season, but he is expected to decline it. It's unknown if KD will return to Golden State or take his talents elsewhere.
