The Golden State Warriors, owners of the best record in the Western Conference, were defeated by the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, owners of the worst record — by a hefty margin — in the Western Conference. No, Klay Thompson can't figure it out either.

Thompson labeling Sunday the worst loss of the season may certainly feel that way as Phoenix limped in on the second leg of a back-to-back after losing on the road to Portland on Saturday night. Despite not having T.J. Warren in the fold, Devin Booker and his 37-point, 11-assist double-double led the Suns to a shocking win.

If Thompson calls it the worst loss of the year for him, who we are to argue, but it's worth pointing out that the team got mollywhopped on their home floor by the Boston Celtics just five days ago, They also lost by 23 to the Milwaukee Bucks at home on Nov. 8 and again at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder by 28 on Nov. 21.

Thompson led the scoring charge for Golden State, collecting 28 points while shooting 10-for-22 overall. He continued to hoist from three-point range, getting up 15 threes, his fourth consecutive outing with double-digit triples attempted.

The team lost Kevin Durant earlier in the game due to an ankle injury, but it appears that things aren't all gloom and doom in the Bay Area as Durant appears to have avoided any long-term injury. Golden State still owns the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the time being, needing to get past Sunday's bizarre loss before they square up with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
