Lou Williams made quick work of the Golden State Warriors during their last meeting, dropping a career-high 50 points against the defending champions and putting himself on the map as one of the hottest trade targets available prior to the deadline.

With a 2-1 advantage following their recent 125-106 loss in early January, Klay Thompson noted the team has something in store for him.

“We’ve got some things up our sleeves for him,” said Thompson, according to Connor LeTourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle.

While Williams would be hard-pressed to reach a career-high night yet again, it's likely the Warriors will play close attention to him coming into this first post-All-Star break matchup.

The 6-foot-1 super-sub netted 16 of his 27 field goal attempts, including 8-of-16 from beyond the arc, the last one coming on a really deep 3-pointer that sealed the 50-point mark, as the Clippers ran away with a victory in Oracle Arenas.

The Warriors were without their All-Star backcourt of Stephen Curry and Thompson in that game, but will now have everyone available to play after a few days of rest following the mid-February festivities.

Williams has had the best season of his playing career and will look to make this more than a one-time occurrence, while the Warriors look to fix their slow starts and clamp down defensively early, as they have failed to do through many games in the first part of the season.

Regardless of what cards they have up their sleeve, the Warriors will need more than a flush to keep Williams from going off yet again.
