Thompson is one of the players who is rumored to be considering leaving the Warriors this summer. Although he has publicly stated on multiple occasions that he plans to play his entire career in Golden State, things could change, especially since there are rumors that he's closely monitoring the Los Angeles Lakers' pursuit of New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis.

According to reports, Thompson would highly consider signing with the Lakers if they are able to acquire Davis before the trade deadline or this summer.

Thompson has been rumored to be interested in joining the Lakers, because of his father Mychal Thompson's ties with the franchise, especially its president of basketball operations, Magic Johnson, who was his teammate in the 80s.

Whatever happens in July, the Warriors' legacy as a franchise will forever be well-recognized in the league. They have accomplished a lot as a team, so it wouldn't hurt them to try to achieve more individual feats.
