It was a Thursday night to forget for Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors as they visited the Mavericks in Dallas as the visitors were beat handily, 122-113.
The Warriors star shot poorly from the field, finishing with 16 points on 6-for-17 shooting and 2-for-8 from beyond the arc. His whiffs included a straight up airball and a rather shocking brick off the side of the backboard. The nightmare continued on the defensive end as Mavs superstar Luka Doncic sliced Klay up in their one-on-one matchups:

Klay Thompson was vocal about calling himself out after the game.

“I gotta make some shots, man,” the Warriors star said in frustration. “I can’t be airballing and shooting off the side of the backboard. I gotta be better. It’s on me. I did not play well tonight. … Every time I step out there I expect to be great, so I'll be better.”

Given just how good of a shooter Klay Thompson is, chalk this one up to a bad night at the office. The Warriors star is still very much in the process of getting back to as much of his old self after missing two years of his career. All things considered, these bumps in the road were to be expected.
