The playoffs are just a few weeks away, meaning the Golden State Warriors' quest for an elusive three-peat will shortly be underway. Despite that fact, a lot of people are still focused on the looming free agency of reigning Finals MVP Kevin Durant.

Durant, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, is reportedly set to leave the Warriors to join the New York Knicks. However, this is a move that Scottie Pippen doesn't understand, as he shared on the latest episode of The Jump.

“I'm not buying none of this. Why would KD even leave? What's the point? Why would you leave Golden State?” Pippen said, via Bleacher Report.

“You're gonna be the highest paid player on the team, you're winning. I don't see KD leaving. I think he left OKC to find happiness … he's found happiness.”

Scottie Pippen does make a point there, especially when he mentioned Durant's former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. KD left that team a couple of years ago due to his unstable relationship with former teammate Russell Westbrook. He joined the Dubs and immediately found some peace of mind.

Kevin Durant may not be the heart and soul of the Warriors, but he's definitely their best player. He led the team to two straight championships, earning him back-to-back Finals MVP honors.

One major criticism about Durant is the fact that he has yet to carry a team on his shoulders. Of course, with the Warriors, he has Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to rely on.

So if KD plans on being the lone alpha of a squad, New York makes perfect sense. But if he wants to continue winning, the Dubs are still the top choice.
