Playing without Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors built up a 21-point lead against the Dallas Mavericks at home on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Warriors melted down in the fourth quarter and suffered an ugly 107-101 loss. The Dubs' bench was especially poor in the defeat, with Jordan Poole scoring just four points and missing all seven of his shot attempts in only 19 minutes despite Thompson's absence.

Poole's play has been a bit erratic of late as he tries to navigate a fluctuating role. It was interesting to see rookie Moses Moody get the start over Poole with Thompson out on Sunday.

After the game, Warriors star Stephen Curry noted that Poole must figure out how to deal with this kind of adversity and learn how to play different roles on any given night, per The Athletic's Anthony Slater:

“For him to be who he wants to be in this league, I think he has to have a little versatility in terms of being able to play different styles,” Steph Curry said. “Sometimes starting, sometimes off the bench, sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes 15. You gotta be able to be yourself through all those situations. I think he’s built for it.”

The Warriors star ultimately believes Poole has it in him to figure things out. Golden State likes the 22-year-old and wants to give him a lucrative payday to keep him around, but there's still plenty of room for improvement in his game as he develops. Curry knows what Poole has to do to be the best version of himself for this franchise, and we'll see if he can step up to the challenge.

On the season, Poole is averaging 16.1 points, 3.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 43.5% from the field and 33.4% from 3-point range.
