Blackout Tuesday has today emerged as a prominent form of online protest among several social media outlets, and for their part, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have decided to jump in on the action.

The Warriors posted a plain black image on their official Twitter account with the caption #BlackOutTuesday, and Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, followed suit.

More than a few NBA personalities have come out to condemn the death of Floyd and have voiced out their support in the ensuing peaceful protests. The Warriors are taking a stand as well, using the social media route to mount their own protests.

For Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, however, the three-time NBA champion coach has taken it a step further by speaking out via his Twitter account. Kerr has been unafraid to share his rather strong thoughts on these recent turn of events, and he even labeled United States President Donald Trump as a “racist.”

The Warriors recently reopened their practice facility after being on hiatus for several months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The players have returned to perform individual workouts, while still maintaining strict social distancing measures. Despite this recent development, however, it is clear that the entire team has likewise been giving much of their attention to more pressing matters at hand. After all, these issues that have gripped our nation of late are much more important than basketball.
